
It’s a real shame though, because this was an excellent idea, and with equally good presentation.ĭefinitely the most interesting and “out of this world” entry of this competition. It gets especially worse in the last two levels, where enemies are too far for you to even see them. The camera isn’t far enough to see the enemies, so mostly, you’ll just shoot blindly until you hit someone, or even worse, until you get hit by the lightning-reflexes of the Combine soldiers. The reason I’m saying this is because the biggest problem lies with the lack of visibility you have. When the game is unfair, you get mad at the game. I know it’s meant to be frustrating and difficult like the game is based on, but the difference between fair and unfair difficulty lies in the fact that when a game is fair, you get mad at yourself. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the gameplay. For starters, the atmosphere and the lighting are both excellent, prop placement is great and realistic (the places actually feel and look furnished) and these to me are the entry’s strongest aspects. I really, REALLY wanted to love this level, because I love both HL and HM, but I got so frustrated for all the wrong reasons I just couldn’t bear to give it an “It’s Good” rating.
